John Yunga - Grid & Structure (Updated Version)

Image
Reflection                                                 My grid represents a triangular gird as seen in my drawing and my structure is the pattern on each triangle from the gird. This pattern really matches with my triangle grid because if I used another grid then it would look strange and it wouldn't match the pattern , overall it wouldn't stand out compared to the triangular grid. My grid also contains the variation bending because the pattern is based on the reading and it clearly shows that the pattern bends and returns back into it's normal state, not changing the size or shape. I would have shaded the pattern in more but I realized that it would cover the gird, and it would make the grid less visible, this is why I shaded in the grid more than the pattern. My challenges was firstly to make the grid itself because I had to make all of the triangles ...

John Yunga - "Similarity" 1/12/2023

Reflection                                                                             Drawing 1   Drawing 2   Both of my drawings represent similarity due to both resembling each other, but they are not clearly identical which determines what similarity means. My idea for my drawings is based off the reading because the reading mainly mentioned shapes, which gave me the idea to base my drawings off different shapes combined. Also the principle Union was a major contribution to my second drawing because it's overlapping the huge triangle, which is similar to the example of Union that was given in the reading.. As stated previously, I made my image by combining shapes to create unique figur...

John Yunga - Grid & Structure (Old Version)

Image
Reflection                                               My grid represents a triangular grid shown in my drawing and it's proportion is different due to my grid having different positions and my repetition is inside the triangles, which shows dilation because the triangles are getting smaller as more triangles are being added into the main triangular grid. My grid was clearly inspired by the triangular gird but my unit form of repetition is inspired by an illusion pattern I have seen while researching about unit form of repetition. Originally, I drew it throughout the entire paper but the drawing had to be 6'8 so I changed it to that measurement. I would have traced my grid with ink or a sharpie but I was afraid that the ink was going to mess up my drawing so, in the end  I decided not to. I really enjoyed my drawing it looked better than my other drawings I have...

"Repetition" - John Yunga

Repetition The designs that helped me make this art work are found from the, Repetition slide show. The first one is the book cover from Henry Van De Velde made in 1908 and the second one is called Harran II from Frank Stella, which was made in 1967. If you compare both of those designs and compare them with mine you can see that I tried to make my work similar to Henry's by continuing drawing my pattern until I don't have enough space to draw the rest. I took inspiration from Frank as well because I used the same shape but tilted a bit so it can looked a bit unique. I also added a few of my ide...

John Yunga - “Interrelationships of Forms”

Detachment                                                                                                 I really thought this one was eye catching due to the numerous shapes I drew in this art piece. It also really demonstrates the element "Detachment" due to all of the triangles being far apart from each other, which in the reading says that the shapes have to distant from each other to be considered "Detachment".                       ...

Point, Line, Plane- John Yunga

Image
"Point 1" My thoughts about my drawing, "Point 1" turned out to be good because it came out clear. Plus it clearly demonstrated point because throughout the drawing shows circles. I feel impressed with it because I thought that is was going to come out messy and with plenty of erasing marks. "Point 2" My thoughts about my drawing, "Point 2" also turned out better than expected because the pattern seems noticeable. Also it demonstrated point very well because of the circles. I feel relieved because I also expected this drawing to be messy as the previous one. "Line 1" My thoughts about my drawing, "Line 1" is really good because I enjoy how it turned out. Also how the shaded lines shows line in the drawing. I feel good because I was able to make a pattern with the shaded and white lines, so it was easy. "Line 2" My thoughts about my drawing, "Line 2" was the least best out of all of the drawings. It's be...

About Me

Hello there, here are some interesting facts about me. My name is John Yunga and I am 15 years old and am attending the high school Information Technology High School. I live with my family, which contains my parents and 2 siblings. I was born in New York, and remain in Queens until now. My favorite school subject is math and computer class because I can express my own way how to work on classwork that I am given. My interests are studying after finishing my homework and drawing when I am free from any work. I also enjoy to play sports on the weekend and play video games in the evening.  I am interested in graphic design because I enjoy to draw and I have heard that there is drawing involved in this class. In addition, technology is involved so it would be very interesting drawing and designing on different kinds of programs were going to use this year.   My hobbies are studying school topics that I learned throughout the year. Another one is do...
