John Yunga - Grid & Structure (Old Version)

Reflection

My grid represents a triangular grid shown in my drawing and it's proportion is different due to my grid having different positions and my repetition is inside the triangles, which shows dilation because the triangles are getting smaller as more triangles are being added into the main triangular grid. My grid was clearly inspired by the triangular gird but my unit form of repetition is inspired by an illusion pattern I have seen while researching about unit form of repetition. Originally, I drew it throughout the entire paper but the drawing had to be 6'8 so I changed it to that measurement. I would have traced my grid with ink or a sharpie but I was afraid that the ink was going to mess up my drawing so, in the end  I decided not to. I really enjoyed my drawing it looked better than my other drawings I have made in the past due to it having more creativity. My challenges were to perfectly make my triangles from my grid the same size and precise because I had to redraw multiple times due to some being bigger than other triangles. Another challenge I faced was to keep the my pattern triangles straight and clear because I had a small area each time I added new triangles so most of the times I messed up the smaller triangles and made the crooked. Overall, I really enjoyed my Grid & Structure, Unit of Repetition design because it turned out well and many people agreed, plus I believe it does represents the rubric really well.
